  • Southwold

Had a day in Southwold today. The weather was a bit cold but we had a nice time walking on the beach, going on the pier and shopping at all the yummy food shops. Al, in Southwold I bought what was probably the best pie ever, a “Pieminister” and as you and I are pie Continue reading

  • Ratatouille

An extremely well made film, the animation is fantastic. I really enjoyed Shrek, The Incredibles and Finding Nemo they were all laugh out loud funny but this is pretty boring. It is just no fun, there a few laughs but they are few and far between. The cinema was pretty well full of kids tonight Continue reading

  • 12 Angry Men

Watched this again last night this would definitely be in my list of top ten films ever. Made in 1957 this fantastically well written film about 12 jurors discussing the verdict on a young man who has been accused of murdering his father. As it is a murder case the jury has to return a Continue reading

  • Half Nelson

Incredibly overrated boring tosh. If you are standing in the video shop and you fancy something with a bit of meaning, a storyline, something substantive then don’t, whatever you do, get this film. 0/10 Continue reading

  • Jacuzzi on Mont Blanc

These guys are crazy. Continue reading

  • Rats! Why is Diy never easy?

Yesterday I took out one of the cupboards by the fireplace, underneath I found part of an old fireplace which I had to take out to bring it down to floor level. Underneath the top layer of old bricks was an old pipe which at one time must have been connected to the drains and Continue reading

  • Do you haggle?

I always love the idea of haggling and I am quite happy too if I am buying something for cash but I don’t ever do it if I am buying something from a retailer. For three months Tom Chiarella haggled for everything starting with a hotdog! Continue reading

  • On strike again

So, we’re on strike again. This is two 48 hour strikes which means that no-one is going to get any post until next Wednesday which is just ridiculous. Surely Royal Mail and the CWU can get something agreed this time, to keep going on like this isn’t benefiting anyone. On the plus side, its a Continue reading

  • Poorly Mum

Had a phone call from my mum yesterday, she has got to go into hospital at the end of next week for a few days to have an operation. She’s  is worried about it, but she’s pretty tough my mum and I know she’ll be fine. Continue reading

  • I am One!

Wow! This blog is now one year old. I can’t believe how quickly this last year has gone by. Its nice to write a sort of diary again. I used to do it up until about ten years ago and it is fun to read back sometimes. Its also a great way to remind yourself Continue reading

  • The Return

A Russian film about two boys whose father returns home after a twelve year absense. He then takes the boys on a fishing trip, his motives are unclear and he has an ulterior motive for taking them to the island where they fish. But, it is the boys reaction to him and his efforts to Continue reading

K finished work on Friday so she’s looking forward to dossing for a while. She had lots of presents and some really nice cards wishing her good luck. • Missile Silo Luxury Home

I think I’ll snap one up, its only $2.3 million. “The perfect getaway home, it has its own direct runway access, its climate controlled and is capable of withstanding a nuclear hit.” Continue reading

Corky phoned tonight, Liane has been having contractions all day so it looks like things are starting…. got everything crossed for them. Continue reading

  • Downfall

A German film about the last few days of Hitlers life when he was holed up in a bunker in Berlin. This is an excellent account of what happened as the Russians closed in and Hitler and his generals gradually realise the war is over. Not the most cheery film but absolutely fascinating and very Continue reading

  • Busy Sunday?

Had much planned for Sunday. We started off extremely well by visiting many retail outlets and you’ll be glad to know readers, that we have now made a dining room table and chairs decision! Feeling very proud of ourselves we decided to celebrate at the pub with a Sunday lunch and a couple of pints Continue reading

  • Blood Diamond

Its a pretty good film although I didn’t think it found its stride until about a third of the way in. Had it not been for the brilliant performances by Leonardo diCaprio and particularly Djimon Hounsou this would have been just a regular action thriller. 8/10 Continue reading

  • Little Ginge Update

K had an appointment with the midwife this week and everything is good, she was most impressed with K’s iron levels! She had a listen to the heartbeat and she said “I think that your having a boy” apparently she was able to make an educated guess from the heart rate it seems that boys Continue reading

  • Beautiful day today

Up fairly earlyish and got out on my bike, it was a lovely sunny morning, clear blue skies with a bit of a breeze. The early signs of autumn are showing now, the Horse Chesnut trees are changing colour and shedding their conkers. It always take me back to when I was kid, collecting conkers. Continue reading

  • In the Bedroom

Excellent. I really enjoyed this film, when I first heard of it I thought it was just some depressing wheepy, but I was so wrong. The story is about a couple struggling to cope with the murder of their son and the fact that the murderer is out on bail, is probably only going to Continue reading

  • Can cats tell the time?

This week I have been starting a bit later for work so rather than getting up at 4.15, I am getting up at 5.15. I was looking forward to enjoying my extra hour in bed but I hadn’t allowed for Oscars demands for his brekkie! From 4.15 every morning this week I have been woken Continue reading

  • Back to College

Back to college tonight… part of of me thinks I can’t be arsed but then I also want to get back into it. This year is meant to be mainly theory which is a shame as I enjoyed the practical lessons. Continue reading

  • Sunny Swindon for the weekend

Popped over to Swindon to see the Caples this weekend. Helped Al move his shed to get ready for his camper purchase and in the evening we went to to see I am Kloot at the Louisiana bar in Bristol. The upstairs room where they played was tiny and so hot and as usual Mr Continue reading
