  • Elbow at Cambridge

Fantastic gig last night, the band really do seem to be having the time of their lives having won The Mercury Music award. Guy was really on form, chatting and joking with the crowd. It didn’t really feel like a performance just more like you had gone to hang out with them for a night.… Continue reading

Three weeks off –  whoop whoop! Off to see Elbow in Cambridge tomorrow night. Got some house stuff to do this week with a visit to the zoo on Wednesday and then off to Scotland for a week on Friday and a week in Northumberland after that. Hope the weather improves!! Continue reading

  • REC

This is a really good, full on, Spanish horror film. The central character is television reporter  who is filming a documentary of the local fire crew. One night the crew are called to an apartment building because a woman is trapped in her apartment. They break in with the police and the woman becomes extremely… Continue reading

  • Taken

Liam Neeson plays Bryan, an ex-government agent whose daughter is kidnapped in paris while he is talking to her on the phone. This is pretty much your standard action film. The plot is pretty unbelievable, giving the impression that dodgy Albanians are lurking around kidnapping American women. The actress playing the daughter over plays her… Continue reading

  • Great Weekend

Charlie and Spud came for tea on Saturday and we had a right good night. Really enjoyed playing cards, its been ages since I last played. Sunday, the weather was gorgeous and there was no way we were going to do anything house related so we headed off on a cruise on the bikes stopping… Continue reading

  • 1996 McDonalds Hamburger

This lady is a nutrition consultant and her favourite prop that she uses when she’s teaching parents about healthy eating for children is this hamburger. She bought in 1996 and it still looks exactly the same… how scary is that? Continue reading

  • Happy Go Lucky

Well what can I say… this isn’t total rubbish… Poppy, a Primary school teacher is irrepressibly upbeat and cheerful, she’s really likeable and she’s a fun character to watch but that’s all you do. Not much else happens really, she goes to work, has flamenco lessons, has fun with her friends and the only interesting… Continue reading

  • London Freewheel

Had a fantastic day today, we took part in the London Freewheel, an event where a 12 km traffic free route is created from Buckingham Palace to Trafalgar Square, along Embankment and ending at Tower Hill. Had a great afternoon on Thursday, Emma’s bike seat arrived so we went for a ride from here to Greenstead Green where there’s a farm shop and rather nice cafe. We had a cup of tea and a slice of cake and then biked home. It was great, Emma really enjoyed it, she was waving… Continue reading

  • Emma’s off!

Its quite amazing how Emma has advanced over the last three weeks. She started crawling, recognising words such as head, brush your hair, book, belly (no surprise there!) and waving. And, she also started to walk with her little trolley! • Grumpy Emma

Poor Emma has been proper grumpy over the last week. She’s teething, with a couple coming through but she has been really snotty and she’s also been quite chesty so we’re not sure if she’s got a cold as well…. The poor love has been waking up every night getting in a right pickle, so… Continue reading

  • Hellboy II: The Golden Army

Corky and I went to see this this week and we both really enjoyed it. The story starts with young hellboy being told a story about an ancient battle between humans and creatures. An unstoppable clockwork army is built for Balor, the king of the elves which he uses to devastating effect. Feeling a bit… Continue reading

  • Windy Day at Mersea

Liane and I took the girls to Mersea for a picnic in the week, but it was so windy we couldn’t even sit on the beach . So we ended up at Cudmore Grove, and Livvy and Emma played football on the grass. Wheres my lunch? Corky took this piccy of the girls when we… Continue reading

  • The Happening

This is a really odd film, its got some great ideas and some really tense scenes but I’m not sure exactly what Shyamalan was hoping to achieve. It seems that he wrote a few really good scenes but then thought…. how do I string this all together…. I know I’ll just include some really lame… Continue reading

  • At last, a barbie!!

The weather was actually really nice yesterday so we were able to deprive the spiders of their climbing frame and get the barbie out!!
