  • Spider’s Morning – By Emma

Agatha’s web was laden with moisture droplets on that fine morning. She had spent almost all of her hours under the moon, piecing together and patching up her beautiful web. Now, it hung, reflecting the golden rays of the early morning sun, between two gnarled, weary branches of an ancient oak tree. It and its Continue reading

  • Walk along the Coastal path from Branscombe

This was a fabulous walk along the coastal path towards Beer. It was a really misty day, so we couldn’t enjoy the views but walking through the Hooken undercliff was fantastic. A slump in the chalk cliffs in 1790 has created a wooded and sheltered habitat for plants and wildlife. Walking it in the fog Continue reading

This was a bit of an off the cuff bike ride starting from Castle Neroche woods in the Blackdown Hills. • Weald & Downland Museum

The Weald & Downland Museum is a 40 Acre site in Singleton, near Chichester which has 50 buildings dating over the last 1000 years. It’s a fascinating insight into how people lived and worked in these amazing buildings. Some of the buildings were really soot stained and I couldn’t believe that chimneys were not common Continue reading

  • Spring, by Emma

Encased in a flower’s grasp, secrets hide. Enveloped in a tree’s tight grip, secrets hide. Protected by their mother, secrets hide. Beneath the surface of a pool, secrets hide. Something stirs on the breeze, a scent pure, fresh. Spring. The flower’s grip loosens. The tree’s grip releases. The mother’s protection grows stronger. The pool stirs. Continue reading
