Had a fantastic camping weekend at Alde Garden Near Saxmundham. Its a fantastic campsite, really quirky with a great pub, a campfire, and a very well equipped kitchen area, what more could you ask for?
We arrived on Saturday afternoon, so after we pitched up, we spent the evening in the pub. Its such a quirky place, really oldey woldey with a large range and a wood burner, so very cosy. It has no bar, so you have to order your food and beer at a doorway and they bring it to you. There was a bluegrass band on, squeezed in under the dartboard, so we spent the evening drinking beer, munching pies, listening to the band and playing cards.
It was pretty darn cold Saturday night about -2 (see frosty tent) but we took everything and hot water bottles are very handy. I got up at about 5.30 and went for a frosty walk it was lovely!
The Campsite also had a collection of old bikes so we selected some old bone rattlers and went for a ride to Peasenhall for a bit of lunch at a tea Room.
In the afternoon we just hung out at the campsite reading and snoozing while the kids played.
Monday we went up to Dunwich for a walk along the coast, a perfect end to great weekend.
